Today we talk about a topic that none of us want to think of and we all hope it will never happen however the reality is if you travel a lot sooner or later you will have a breakdown and you will be stuck on the side of the road and when that happens the question is will you be prepared. Okay so if you find yourself in a situation where you have broken down of course the first thing you want to do is get yourself off the side of the road as far as you safely can once you’ve done that you want to assess the situation is this something that you can fix or are you going to need additional help, while assessing the situation it’s always best if you can have a spotter with you they can keep an eye on traffic and alert you of any potential danger this way you can concentrate more on your rig and what the issue may be.
However, before you even step out of the vehicle I highly recommend that you have some sort of safety vest on so you are highly visible for any oncoming traffic.

So I know in a little bit I make light of the situation to make sure your highly visible however it’s very important and breaking down on the side of the road is no laughing matter make sure you take the time to prepare yourself also if you determine that the repair is bigger than something you can handle a good thing to have some sort of roadside assistance the several options out there do your research and choose the one that’s right for you.

Other things that I highly recommend are some sort of road reflectors such as triangles or the roadside safety puck all available at Amazon. Using these will give oncoming traffic a heads up about potential situation. This is especially important if you are over a hill or around a sharp corner don’t take chances make sure that other vehicles know you are on the side of the road and enough time to take and make adjustments to their speed or their line of travel so they can avoid you and your rig.
