If you plan on doing docking, there are some things you can do to help extend your stay. In no particular order the first thing I suggest having to extend your boon docking experience is some sort of power supply. That may come in the form of a generator or a solar system. Either way a need some sort of power even if it’s minimal to really enjoy boon docking and still stay connected.

Another important thing that would help extend your Boone docking stay is some sort of composting toilet. You don’t need a high and thousand dollars toll it to make this happen you can do it was something as simple as a luggable Loo and a plastic bag. I’ll leave it up to you to decide what you would like to get but here are links to options on both ends of the spectrum. Click here for the luggable loo or hear for the Natures Head composting toilet. Without some sort of toilet that will eliminate your Blackwater tank you will limit your time Boone docking to the capacity of that tank.

Okay, this may not seem so important to some of you but I believe paper towels are a huge benefit for Boone docking this will cut back on the number of towels you dirty for laundry. They also can be used to start campfires as needed. Again not something you normally think of but I highly recommend paper towels cut down on water use as well because you can wipe a lot of the debris off of your plates.

Another thing to consider is your water consumption, one way to help with that is to use vinegar mixed with water to do lots of cleaning. Use the paper towels to get the heavy debris off of your plates and then vinegar and water to finish tidying up.

There are also a few things you can do before you head out to ensure your ready for your Boone docking. One is to make sure your freshwater tank is topped off. Of course you are going to be conservative with your water usage however you still needed for many day to day activities. By checking it and topping it off ahead of time it’s one less thing that will cause you to leave your spot early.

To go along with making sure your freshwater is full you also want to make sure your gray water tank is empty you need space for your wastewater to go you don’t want to be dumping this on to the ground.

There are also many things and many RVs that run on propane so before you head out take the time to top off your propane tanks as well. This generally is used to keep food cold in your refrigerator as well as cook food with your stove or oven. If you have any be staying in colder climates many RVs use a propane fired hot air furnace to keep you warm on those cool nights. So once again make sure your propane tanks are full before you head out on your trip.

Another way to help cut down on water usage is to use body wash towels I have a video coming up on this shortly. Now there are those days that you might have been extra active they really require a shower but there are many times that you might’ve been just hanging around a campfire and a body wash towel is just the thing to refresh you and save significantly on your water usage.

Along with body wash towels, dry shampoo is another way to help cut down on water usage but still refresher hair and help to you with some of the natural oils.
