Welcome back, today’s topic is about 10 essential kitchen items you should have with you when you go camping.
One particular item that I find very useful in the kitchen is a cutting board this is an item that often overlooked because we are busy getting other essential items for our trip. Make sure you take the time to evaluate what you think you might need for your kitchen and I highly recommend you include a cutting board.
Now here’s another silly one but if you have an oven in your RV there is a chance you will do some baking and wood that I recommend bringing a whisk of some sort this is definitely something that does generally get overlooked when you are packing for a camping trip.
Another commonly overlooked item for the kitchen is some soda way to measure ingredients this could be in the form of a measuring cup or other measuring scoops as well either way if there’s a chance you’ll be baking while on the road than a measuring device is an important item to have.
Again while we just talking about baking another important item is some sort of a potholder or a way to remove hot items from the oven.
Can openers and bottle openers are something very small that take up almost no space however it is common for them to be left behind and then you find yourself in a situation like trying to open up canned goods without the proper tools, believe me it happens.
While this next item you certainly could do without just by holding the cover over a pot however having a small strainer on board certainly makes cooking easier again many of these items you might find more important if you are full timing in an RV if you’re just going for a weekend or a week or so then you can easily omit some of these things that I recommend.
This next item probably should be higher on the list and that’s aluminum foil this can be used so many different things while camping including out at your campfire.
Okay you would think this next one is a no-brainer but I myself have found myself in a position without matches so matches are super important to have with you when camping. They can be used to relight a pilot on your equipment in your RV all the way to starting your late-night campfire.
One of the first trips we went out with the kids we went to have breakfast next morning and realize we forgot our toaster not something you would think about normally when you head out on a trip but if you can be an RV for any length of time is a good chance that at some point you will want to use a toaster.
And last but not least it’s important to have some trash bags, I recommend small bags that you can easily tie up and toss in gas station receptacles and things like that I do not recommend large bags unless you’re in an area that provides a dumpster for you you can’t just assume that any dumpster you see is for public use however if there is one nearby and is specifically for the use of camping campers or the like in a large bag would be okay otherwise I would stick with smaller bags.
Well hopefully you found some of this information helpful you can also click on the link above and watch the video format of this at any rate it’s important to make sure you are ready to hit the road one way you can do that is to download my free e-book and pre-trip checklist this will give you the tools you need to make sure you and your rig are as ready as they can be to hit the road. http://www.pretripchecklist.gr8.com/
